HOW IT WORKS
The Asset Investment Planning (AIP) process (powered by IPS®BPM) is as follows:
Each asset (asset system) is applied in criticality matrix. (Prioritization related to Financial, Environmental, Safety and Influence on the system stability)

MONITOR AND CONTROL
Get and manage input data which will be used for AIP: Basically, problems in the existing system (coming from APM) and requirements for the System Augmentations/
Extensions (Problems and Opportunities)
Run approval process and create approved AIP requirements (Needs)
Each AIP requirement will be analyzed through three scenarios SOLUTIONS: REPLACE, MAINTAIN, DO NOTHING.
For each of the solution the costs, RISK prediction will be calculated (already prioritized by CBRM). Algorithm will select solutions with optimal sharing of the risk and costs by prediction for the next 5 and 10 years
Selected solution may be assigned to the AIP projects which will have cost and risks.
This project will be again be approved and finally the Asset Investment Plan is created and correlated with available budget and budget constraints and to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness of the investment.
AIP Supervision will monitor all-important KPIs which will allow permanent supervision of the AIP outcomes
NOTE: AIP is managing only larger investments related to RENEWING of the EXISTING SYSTEM, LARGER SERVICING and MAINTENANCE, NEW EXTENSIONS OF THE SYSTEM
In AIP, IPS is not managing standard maintenance activities and limits can be set as threshold value for AIP.
Output from AIP is a List of all Projects (Investments) with values and corresponding information which is approved for the annual AIP plan.
